BEN'S BIOGRAPHYIt is my greatest desire to share my images with you.Born in 1961 I grew up in Buurse, a small Dutch town near the German border. Having studied economics I soon joined my father's hospitality business and with my brother we turned the holiday resort into a thriving leisure park.My first visit to South Africa in 1998 was a turning point in my career and family life. Hardly a year later, I left Europe with my wife and three children, to start a guest house at the outskirts of Stellenbosch. One thing led to another and I was happy to escape my daily routine by creating a wildlife exploration for our guests in Zululand, where I built a game lodge that would offer a holistic experience of the bush and its inhabitants. And so my love for photography was born. A Big Five game reserve in pristine surroundings offers so many extraordinary photographic opportunities that I could not resist the temptation.
